Photos of Santa visiting the cabin up in Siren for Christmas. He arrived via snowmobile, gave presents to all the children, and departed via snowmobile across the lake.
The weekend after New Years we went back to the cabin. Tim did some snowmobiling and was loving it with all the great new snow we had. And we spent some time on the ice rink - even Grandma and Grandpa Boucher tried skating.
Last weekend we went up to Coon Lake to spend the evening with several couples. Everyone brought something to share and we had some great fajitas.
In this photo we have Ali (left), Nick (center) and Joey (right). All the babies are very "healthy" sized - Ali is 13.5 months here, Nick is 7.5 months and Joey is 4 months.
This past week has been a bit crazy in our house. It started with Nick getting sick. He was crabby Monday night and was running a fever by Tuesday. He got a new tooth Tuesday, so we attributed the fever to teething. (funny side note, he got his top lateral incisor first - before his central incisors. I guess the little man is already breaking all the rules!).
By Tuesday evening, Nick's fever was over 103, and we knew it wasn't teething. After several hours in urgent care and multiple needle sticks (they said he has the worst combo - chubby arms and tiny veins), we found nothing major wrong, just a virus. Grandma Ryman was nice enough to watch Nick for the next few days so mom and dad could go to work.
He was finally feeling better by Thursday, and we thought things would be back to normal. But instead, Kristi was hit by a teenage driver not paying attention in rush hour traffic on her way home from work. Nobody was hurt, except our little Camry. The car was un-drivable, had to get towed home, with the majority of the impact to the front tire (the kid tried to swerve around my stopped car, but bounced off the guard rail and hit me in the front instead).
Hopefully we'll get the car back soon - but they estimate at least a few weeks. We think the axle was damaged, along with the wheel and some body work.
Hopefully this next week will bring back some normalcy. Who says normal is boring? Not us!
